Housing

Affordable Housing & Homelessness

  • We stand up together with local communities in demanding a “regeneration” that does not equal “gentrification” but that does include enough amount of affordable housing.
  • Money needs to filter down to help local communities, local businesses and young entrepreneurs.
  • We would also like to end the depopulation of Carpenters State where empty buildings could be used to house those in need.
  • One in 25 people in Newham are Homeless. We advocate for cross-party cooperation with the Local Council to share resources and effectively support the different homeless organizations such as Charity Begins at Home, with whom some of our campaigners volunteer each month.
