News that Lib Dems will Reverse School Cuts in Newham Welcomed by Local Candidates, Eimear O'Casey and Michael Fox




The Liberal Democrats have announced that they will spend £10 billion a year more on schools and hire 20,000 more teachers by the end of the next Parliament.  Michael Fox for East Ham and Eimear O'Casey for West Ham both welcomed the news as figures from the National Education Union show that next year (2020/21), schools in their respective constituencies will have seen their budgets cut by £16.3m and £10.4m respectively in real terms since 2015, once increasing pupil numbers are taken into account.

A&E Waiting Time Figures in East London show Tories' "dismal record" on NHS



The Local Liberal Democrat Party for Newham, Barking and Dagenham today expressed serious concern over the Conservative Government's inability to provide the NHS with the support it needs in East London A&E's.

Only 83% of patients arriving at A&E in the East London Health & Care Partnership area (which includes Newham) were treated or admitted within four hours in October 2019, according to damning figures published on 14 November by NHS England. This is well below the official target of 95% of patients attending A&E being admitted, transferred or discharged within four hours.
